The year 2020 was, and this year 2021 is, a difficult time for salmon fishing outfitters in Newfoundland. After 50+ years of continuous operation, we could not open in 2020 because Canada and our home province of Newfoundland and Labrador required all people entering to self-isolate for 14 days. That restriction made it impossible for our customers to enjoy a 6-day fishing vacation with us. This year, 2021, remains uncertain.
As of late March (2021), travel restrictions (14-day self-isolation) remain in place. HOWEVER, with the ongoing distribution of COVID vaccines and talks of ‘inter-provincial travel bubbles’ re-opening, we are hopeful that national and international travel restrictions will be lifted in time to save our 2021 salmon season. Salmon Hole Lodge is planning to be open June 20 – July 24, 2021.
We are now accepting reservations. Our ‘per person’ price for the 2021 season is $3,000.00 + 15% sales tax in Canadian dollars OR $2,500.00 + 15% sales tax in US dollars. Full payment is required for all bookings to reserve your spot. Payment by cheque or email transfer please. All payments are 100% refundable - ONLY if travel restrictions to Canada and Newfoundland are NOT lifted before May 15, 2021. Or if you prefer, your payment can be used to secure your week of prime-time salmon fishing in 2022. Please see the Availability section to select your preferred week.
This pandemic has not affected the LaPoile River nor its very healthy populations of Atlantic salmon and Brook Trout. After a year of staying home, this is a perfect time to book your 2021 wilderness fishing adventure NOW? We are here to answer any questions you may have.
